Another Lifeless Royal Highness

‘O Regal Ones
Prithee, don’t leave!
Since Two thousand sixteen,
One hundred seventy-eight
Perished
Majesties,
Forcibly disgorged,
Thirteen Atlantic states.

Ship strikes,
Plastic asphyxiation,
Pernicious persistent poisons,
Shatter’d excruciations
Hideous Big Oil cannons,
Crab pot Kevlar agonisers
Interlock’d throttling fisheries,
Windmill subsea cacophonies,
Burnin’ famine heatwaves,
Deadly domoic de-activators
Big Oily unlivable seas!

What if
For
Just
One day,
Ninety thousand
Commercial ships
Shut engines off?

Serenity,
Harmonic
Symphonic seas,
Coral concertos,
Breathtaking breachers
Singing sonorous Excellencies,
Mother’s sprightly pulse,
Beyond a doubt!

Rekindle
Kindness
Joy
Marvel
Love nature
Oneness,
Peace!
