OSLO – Over the previous four months, subsidised Norwegian whalers slowly and methodically tortured and eventually killed 575 minke whales.
A fleet of fourteen vessels equipped with rocket launching harpoons tipped with penthrite grenades and state of the art satellite technology mercilessly hunted our brethren and sistren, the filter feeding whales. Perhaps as many as three-quarters (~430) of the defenceless whales were pregnant.
Norway’s government is as crooked and cruel as the day is long. This well-to-do miniscule nation of less than six million citizens makes its living from killing, poisoning and cooking the Earth alive.
It’s main industries are petroleum, liquefied natural gas, shipping, fishing, aquaculture, ship building, pulp and paper, and chemicals. The world’s largest sovereign wealth fund is leading the charge of planetary ruination. And they are the apple of the eye of every covetous banker on the globe. Ugh.
Every living whale is too precious for words. They are sapient, sentient, sacred beings and it’s their birthright to draw breath on this glorious blue planet.
During their long lifetime, each filter feeding whale removes an impressive 33 tons of atmospheric carbon dioxide. Upon their demise, whale fall (naturally dead carcasses) feeds many bottom dwelling creatures. Those dwellers safely store all that carbon within the seabed. It’s an indispensable natural carbon storage system and the whales are at the heart of it. Wretched Norwegian whalers and ignorant government officials sneer at the vital role of the planet-saving whales amid the man-made climate crisis. Imbeciles.
No country owns the high seas or life therein. Fisheries are emptying the sea of everything. Unprecedented. Bankers are profiteering, transcontinental organised crime syndicates are cashing in and 1.1 billion years of reproductive evolution is being poisoned and annihilated.
The cetaceans (whales, dolphins, porpoises) are brimming with insecticides, methylmercury and other hideous forever man-made poisons. The Norwegian government is aware of this yet they condone feeding whale meat to the national school lunch program, tourists and the pet food industry. And of course, Norway sells whale meat to Japan, which stockpiles 100-year-old mammal meat for consumption in the future.
No country owns the high seas or life therein.

Why is Norway continuing to brutally slay the whales, that intend us no harm, when only two percent of its people eat whale meat, down from four percent in 2019? Deliberately poisoning children and dogs is pure evil.
Norway now kills more whales than Japan. They are a leading planet-killing rogue country. Until Norway and Japan stop commercial whaling once and for all, it’s up to each of us to punish them economically.
- Refuse to purchase any of their goods or services
- Refuse Norwegian and Japanese tourism
Our planet is in crisis. Crazed bankers and the world’s complicit leaders are enabling oligarchs and fishery, forestry and chemical corporations to plunder the planet with impunity. They have sentenced all life to a bitter end. Enough is enough.
- Consume much less.
- Go vegan.
- Support Sea Shepherd Conservation Society because they protect whales.
- Divest your superannuation or pension fund of fossil fuels, chemicals, banks, palm oil, plastics and forestry. There are many ethical funds that will shepherd your retirement savings without fleecing the animals or Mother Earth.
Join the old-growth blockades, and the climate and extinction rallies.
Each of us matters. Together we are an unstoppable force for planetary goodness and the protection of our kith and kin, the whales and all animals!
Agitate. Disrupt. Defend.
